estate
A financial register of Nynäs estate.
A financial register of Nynäs estate. Contains varied information on the estate, e.g. its ownership of lands, inventories of goods, and deliveries to the estate. The covered period is from
1506 to 1510
(see e.g. fol. : 'Anno dni m d Septimo'; : 'Anno dni m d

'; : 'Anno dni md x

').

In rather good condition.

Possibly more than one hand. Light and dark brown ink.
No decoration.
Limp binding of light brown leather (covers 12 × 31). A damaged projecting flap of the back cover allows the manuscript to be securely closed with a tie of light coloured thread. The same thread is used to sew the quires.
A financial register mainly concerning the estate of
Nynäs
in
Nousis
parish, although it also contains references to other estates with the same owner (e.g.
Vik
, fol. : 'kom oc fra vik'). Nynäs was owned by
Henrik Bidz
at the beginning of the 16th century and it was passed on to his wife
Anna Hansdotter Tott
after his death in
1506
.
This register is the oldest in a series of
sixteenth-century
financial records pertaining to
Nynäs
estate and the estates of
Vik
and
Lahis
which were closely linked to it.
An archival note on a piece of paper attached to the front cover reads: 'C 51 Räkenskaper för Nynäs i Finland 1506 15
07
10 (slägt
Fleming
Bielke
Bitz)'. An older marking on the cover itself reads: 'Nynäs Finland 1506; 1507 tillhörde slägten Fleming'.
The financial records of Nynäs came to the Swedish Crown, and later the
Swedish National Archives
, when the possessions and archives of
Hogenskild Bielke
were confiscated following his execution in
1605
(see
Introduction
to these descriptions).
Probably moved to Codices C from Bielkesamlingen (see this same section in the description of
C 52
).
