Stockholm, National Archives, E 1984 (6), Bielkesamlingen, 01 Hogenskild Bielkes samling, Handlingar rörande Nynäs gård i Nousis socken, Åbo län. Vol. 10. Accounts of Nynäs estate
1546–1549
,
Nynäs
estate?
Accounts for Nynäs
A well-structured and orderly account of
Per Bagge
, bailiff at Nynäs estate. Covers a period of four years. For each year the account follows the same pattern: income, expenditure, consumption, and arrears.
By folio:
Fols. 1−15:
1546
Fols. 16−29:
1547
Fols. 30−43:
1548
Fols. 44−60:
1549
Paper
60 folios
21,5cm × 30cm
Foliation in the upper right-hand corner. The numbering skips over two folios (after fol. 3 and 6) and therefore only runs to 58.
The quire structure is unclear due to heavy conservation work on the binding.
Text in a single column, not ruled
A single hand typical of
mid-16th-century
Swedish cameral documents. Brown ink.
No decoration.
No covers. Rebound during conservation work and the spine rebacked with cloth(?).
A very well written and clear account covering the finances of bailiff
Per Bagge
in
Nynäs
over a four–year period. All sections were most likely written at the same time to summarize four years of accounts, and the record is probably linked to the change of bailiff at Nynäs in
1549
.
The account is part of a large block of records from the
16th century
pertaining to the estates of
Nynäs
,
Vik
, and
Lahis
, which were managed as a whole.
The financial records of
Nynäs
and related estates came to the Swedish Crown, and later the
Swedish National Archives
, when the possessions and archives of
Hogenskild Bielke
were confiscated following his execution in
1605
(see
Introduction
to these descriptions).
