The quire is in decent condition. Several leaves are dirtied and there is fraying along the edges, but the text remains legible.
One unruled column with a varying number of lines.
One main hand writing a steady cursive.
No decoration.
Stab-stitched, no covers.
The manuscript contains the
register
of Count
Axel Leijonhufvud
's (1554–1619) incoming and outgoing correspondence for the year
1588
, during which he was the governor (
ståthållare
) of
Finland
. It must have originated in Leijonhufvud's chancery, and doubtless represents only a small part of what was once a larger archive of correspondence.
The fragment originally belonged to
Axel Leijonhuvfvud
, and probably arrived in the
Swedish National Archives
with the rest of his collection. It is now kept among other documents relating to
16th-century
Finland.
