                <condition><p>There are two separate parts.</p><p>Since part II contains records
                    twenty years younger and is of a different size, the two parts seem to have
                    belonged to different manuscripts in spite of having been written by the same
                    scribe.</p><p>Both manuscripts are in relatively good condition. Some leaves of
                    manuscript A have been conserved and a few holes repaired. Apart from that there
                    are some stains and fraying along the edges, but little text
                  loss.</p></condition>

            <handDesc>
              <p>One main hand writing a cursive script, which leans noticeably to the right, and
                appears in both manuscripts. Since the sessions recorded took place twenty years
                apart, the hand may be that of judge <persName role="scribe">Sigfried
                  Persson</persName>. The writing in records from 1592 seems somewhat sloppier,
                which may indicate that both manuscripts were contemporary with the proceedings. The
                same hand can be seen in a fragment concerning judicial incomes from 1573 (<ref
                  type="mss">Stockholm, National Archives, Bielkesamlingen, 01 Hogenskild Bielkes
                  samling, Vol. 10: Handlingar rörande Nynäs gård i Nousis socken Åbo län / E
                  1984</ref>).</p>

          <history>
            <origin><p>The manuscripts contain records of court sessions presided by <persName role="judge">Sigfried
              Persson</persName> in <origDate from="1572" to="1573">1572–1573</origDate> and <origDate from="1592" to="1593">1592–1593</origDate>. Their different sizes suggest that there were
                two separate manuscripts, although both were written by the same experienced scribe
                – probably by <persName role="scribe">Sigfried Persson</persName> himself. Both manuscripts were probably written
                relatively soon after the actual court sessions. The records seem to represent fair
                copies as they contain no cancellations or additions.</p></origin>
                        <acquisition>
                          <p><orgName>Swedish National Archives</orgName>’s stamp on I (fols. <locus>1r</locus>, <locus>17r</locus>). Number ‘3’ in the upper margin of I
                            (fol. <locus>1r</locus>). According to a pencil-written note (II, fol. <locus>13r</locus>) that fragment at least
                            arrived from the <orgName>Svea court of appeals</orgName> in <date type="acquisition">1955</date>. However, the envelope within which
                the fragments are stored is dated to 1938.</p>
