                  1858, 174–183</bibl>. The opening chapter (fol. <locus>1r</locus>) reads: </p>
              <p>'Inuentarium på Fateburen på Nynäs som Inuenteradh bleff Effter Saligh matz Olson,
                Den 12 Septembris Anno etc 74 vdi Tässe godhe mens Närware, som är, Her Staffan I
                Nousis och Her Oluff I Lemo'.</p>
              <p>Dated <origDate when="1574-09-12">12 September 1574</origDate>, the inventory is
                divided into 28 chapters, each detailing specific types of items ranging from grain
                to paintings.</p>

          <history>
            <origin><p>A record of an inventory taken 12 September <origDate>1574</origDate> at
                  <origPlace>Nynäs</origPlace> estate situated in <placeName>Nousis</placeName>
                parish near Åbo. The inventory was taken after the term of <persName role="bailiff">Mats
                  Olsson</persName> as bailiff had ended. (According to <bibl>Suvanto (1995,
                  75)</bibl>, Mats Olsson was bailiff of Nynäs 1549−1573. A copy of the letter
                appointing him is <ref type="mss">Stockholm, National Archives, Bielkesamlingen, 02
                  Adliga ätten Bielke, Nils Pedersson Bielke (†1550), Vol. 3: Godshandlingar
                  1546–1550 / E 1987, 6a, fol. 2</ref>.) Witnessing the inventory were
                  <persName>Olaus Jacobi</persName>, parson of <placeName>Lemu</placeName>, and
                  <persName>Stephanus Henrici</persName>, parson of <placeName>Nousis</placeName>

                the parsons have originally been attached to fol. <locus>6r</locus> but are now
                lost. According to <bibl>Arwidsson (1858, 183)</bibl> they still survived in the
                1850s: <hi rend="italic">'Tvenne väl bibehållna sigill finnas under
                handlingen'</hi>.</p><p>The document is an original, as proven by the now lost
                seals. The record was most likely written as the inventory progressed or as a fair
                copy made immediately afterwards.</p><p>The estate of Nynäs was part of a larger set
                of possessions in Finland which also included the estates of
                  <placeName>Vik</placeName> and <placeName>Lahis</placeName> along with their
                tenant farms.</p></origin>
            <acquisition>
              <p>The financial records of <placeName>Nynäs</placeName> came to the Swedish Crown, and later the
                  <orgName>Swedish National Archives</orgName>, when the possessions and archives of
                  <persName role="owner">Hogenskild Bielke</persName> were confiscated following his
                execution in <date type="acquisition">1605</date> (see <hi rend="italic"
                  >Introduction</hi> to these descriptions).</p><p>Now preserved in an unmarked
                archival paper sleeve with several unconnected documents.</p>
