              <p>A well structured financial register detailing incomes and expenses in various
                goods for the estate complex of <placeName>Nynäs</placeName>,
                  <placeName>Vik</placeName>, and <placeName>Lahis</placeName> (or possibly only one
                or two of them). Entries mostly concern the years <date from="1531" to="1532">1531−1532</date> (fols. 1−61) but the
                last quire has notes up to 1540.</p>

                  <note>A varied quire structure. The first quire consists of eight bifolia with the
                    last folio cut out. Folios six and seven have been sewn together. The second
                    quire has eight bifolia and encloses an extra bifolium (with the first leaf left
                    unnumbered and the second marked ‘25’). The third quire has eight bifolia and an
                    added paper slip. Two folios have been cut out. The fourth quire consists of
                    three bifolia and encloses an extra bifolium (leafs numbered 50 and 51). The
                    fifth quire has three bifolia with the last folio cut out. Finally, the sixth
                    quire consists of four bifolia.</note>

                flap closing on the front. The front cover shows the remnants of a contemporary

          <history>
            <origin><p>A rather well-written financial register which is better organized than its
                counterparts from the same period. The structuring of notes under clear and easily
                navigable headings suggests that this is a fair copy.</p><p>This manuscript is part
                  of a large block of records from the <date from="1500" to="1599">16th century</date> pertaining to the estates of
                  <placeName>Nynäs</placeName>, <placeName>Vik</placeName>, and <placeName>Lahis</placeName>, which were managed as a whole. A likely place of writing is
                  <origPlace>Nynäs</origPlace> estate, but the record could equally well have been written
              elsewhere.</p></origin>
           <acquisition>
             <p>The financial records of <placeName>Nynäs</placeName> and related estates came to the Swedish Crown, and
                later the <orgName>Swedish National Archives</orgName>, when the possessions and
                archives of <persName role="owner">Hogenskild Bielke</persName> were confiscated
                following his execution in <date type="acquisition">1605</date> (see <hi
                  rend="italic">Introduction</hi> to these descriptions).</p>
