seems they may represent the remains of a single codex: one scribe was mostly
responsible for the writing, and the text regularly continues with the change of
a year within the same quire.

Fols. 49 and 65 are small slips. Fol. 49 is
a singleton. Fols. 113–116 contain a registry of fines, which was originally
probably independent. It has been added between a double leaf; its first leaf
(113) is connected in the gutter to fol. 117 by being pasted to the same piece
of Japanese paper. The registry of fines was written in a different format to
the rest of the book. Nowadays one bifolium of the quire has been opened and
laid flat (fol. 113), others are cropped to a smaller size (fols.
114–116).

Several leaves have been damaged in the upper margin by fire.
This has regularly caused text loss. Fol. 32 has a hole in it. Several leaves
are badly rubbed and the text is faded; throughout the manuscript, a part of the
upper margin has been torn and the leaves reinforced with paper. Often the outer
margin has also suffered damage. Fol. 105 has a larger tear with nearly half of
the leaf missing.
</condition>
