 Paper 134 folios. 20,5 34,5 Text area varies. Two different sets of modern foliation. One in ink in the outer margin and counting only the original leaves (1–134). The second typewritten or stamped in the lower margin counting also modern flyleaves entered during rebinding (1–140). In the present description the first foliation is followed. Although the fragments included in the volume have been rebound, it seems they may represent the remains of a single codex: one scribe was mostly responsible for the writing, and the text regularly continues with the change of a year within the same quire.

Fols. 49 and 65 are small slips. Fol. 49 is a singleton. Fols. 113–116 contain a registry of fines, which was originally probably independent. It has been added between a double leaf; its first leaf (113) is connected in the gutter to fol. 117 by being pasted to the same piece of Japanese paper. The registry of fines was written in a different format to the rest of the book. Nowadays one bifolium of the quire has been opened and laid flat (fol. 113), others are cropped to a smaller size (fols. 114–116).

Several leaves have been damaged in the upper margin by fire. This has regularly caused text loss. Fol. 32 has a hole in it. Several leaves are badly rubbed and the text is faded; throughout the manuscript, a part of the upper margin has been torn and the leaves reinforced with paper. Often the outer margin has also suffered damage. Fol. 105 has a larger tear with nearly half of the leaf missing.

 One unruled column with a varying number of lines.

One main hand writing a cursive of saec. XVI is responsible for most of the manuscript. Another hand producing a more slender cursive writes on fols. 37r–39v, 50v–52v, 113–116 and several short stints throughout the manuscript. A third hand makes occasional additions.

No decoration.

Modern blue cardboard covers. The binding has been renovated and some leaves are pasted to guards or pasted together in the gutter.

Records of court sessions presided over by several judges (but mostly by Arvid Henriksson Tawast) in Hauho and Ylinen, 1594–1598. One scribe is mostly responsible for the writing, but another one contributes regularly. The careful script and arrangement of the records suggest that the copy is more than a draft. Still, in some sections text has been crossed out and added to. Probably the writing took place contemporaneously with or soon after the court sessions.

The later history of the manuscript is unknown. Probably it was sent to Sweden after its writing and shipped back to Finland after the Hamina accords of 1809. Shelf-mark of the National Archives '219a' on a label pasted to the inner front cover.
