The present order of the contents is hypothetical and to be treated with caution, especially given the apparent lack of temporal or sanctoral order even on clearly continuous leaves (cf. the cursory description in Schalin 1946, 61, which obscures the reality of the contents of the manuscript).

The margins bear traces of annotations marking the biblical sources of the chants (e.g. fol. 13v).

 Paper 22 folios. 8,5 14 7,5-8 11,5-12 Modern foliation near the upper right-hand corners of recto-sides. NB: some folia carry erroneous numbering on their verso-sides: fols. 12v (‘7’), 14v (‘22’) and 21v (‘14’) (the numbering is clearly only provisional in any case). 1 + (III–2)5 + III11 + 3 + III20 + 222 Loose folia and bifolia, with some fraying to their edges, holes, and water damage. Some folia have been rendered nearly illegible through the glue applied when the leaves have been used as cover fillings, e.g. fols. 11v and 13r. Text and notation in one column on six lines, ruled in ink.

Monchromatic pen-drawn Gothic versals, some decorated with triangular extrusions, others with flourishing.

Unbound single leaves and bifolia, which (as shown by the holes in the extant folds of bifolia) have previously been bound.

Fragments from a second half of the sixteenth-century(?) <hi rend="italic">antiphonarium</hi> that have been reused in the seventeenth century as cover fillings for printed copy of <hi rend="italic">Piae Cantiones</hi> (1582). The recycling took place at the latest in 1687, when the book was rebound, according to the note on the back pastedown. However, the pastedown (and the paper strips used in the binding that derive from the same source) predates this rebinding, since it also carries the date 30 October 1605. This waste parchment would therefore seem to have been taken over from a previous binding.

Front pastedown: ‘Matthiae Sidaerus Aboensis’, possibly Matthias Svedereus (1650–1721), professor of law and rector of Turku Academy (see Klami 1996– ). Also ‘Matts Möttör[us?]’, who is not identified. The pastedown itself is a reused page from a notebook, with Latin text.
