                    folia that have been folded and pasted on to fol. <locus>23v</locus>, and to
                    each other. Two folia are cropped before fol. 106 and four unnumbered blank
                    leaves are entered after it. Fol. 110, originally part of the quire with fols.
                    107–109, is loose. Four unnumbered modern blank leaves are entered after fol.
                    110. One leaf cropped after fol. 121. Fols. 124–125 are a bifolium pasted on to
                    fol. 126. A blank unnumbered bifolium has been pasted on to fol.
                      <locus>130v</locus>. Fols. 144–146 have been pasted together in the gutter,
                    fol. 143 was possibly originally part of this quire. Fol. 146 is followed by an
                    unnumbered blank leaf.</p><p>The manuscript consists of separate sections with
                    later material included in the middle. Fols. 1–105 and 131–146 are written by
                    the same scribe and have originally belonged together. Fols. 111–121 may have
                    also belonged to the original manuscript. Other parts were likely added in
                    connection with the rebinding, which may have also led to the <hi rend="italic"
                      >Kyrkobalk </hi>being placed at the end of the manuscript.</p><p>The
                    manuscript shows signs of moisture damage. A tear in the lower part of fols. 145
                    and 146 has been repaired by pasting blank paper on the leaves. The covers are
                    badly worn.</p></condition>

              <p>One main hand writing both the <title><hi rend="italic">Landslag</hi></title> and
                    <title><hi rend="italic">Kyrkobalk</hi></title> in a book cursive of <date
                  type="script" from="1500" to="1599">saec. XVI</date>. The scribe may also have
                been responsible for fols. <locus>119v</locus>–<locus>121v</locus>, and possibly
                even fols. <locus>111r</locus>–<locus>119v</locus> written in a more rapid cursive.
                According to <bibl>Schlyter (1869, LXII–LXIII)</bibl>, the same scribe is
                responsible for <ref type="mss">Uppsala, University Library, B 2</ref>, which
                includes a section written in <lang>Finnish</lang>. This strongly suggests the
                scribe was Finnish. The hands are indeed similar, and there seems to be a
                relationship between the manuscripts (they contain, for example, the same addition
                on Swedish history entered in KgB 1). However, UUB, B 2 is written in a
                lower-quality script than this one.</p>
              <p>Schlyter also suggests that the text from fol. <locus>58r</locus> onwards was
                written by the same scribe but at a later date. This is difficult to confirm, but
                the ink and script do undergo some changes at this point. Also the watermarks show
                that a change in paper occurred at this point as well.</p>

          <history>
            <origin><p>The manuscript contains <persName role="author">Kristoffer</persName>’s <title><hi rend="italic">Landslag</hi></title> written
                by a steady and experienced hand. The work was apparently done by the same scribe
                responsible for <ref type="mss">Uppsala, University Library, B 2</ref>, which was donated to <persName>Sigfried
                  Luchoinen</persName> in <date>1604</date> and probably written by a Finnish scribe in Finland. That would
              indicate that this manuscript also originated in <origPlace>Finland</origPlace>. A relationship between the
                two manuscripts is also indicated by the fact that there are textual similarities
                with UUB, B 2, albeit the latter contains more errors.</p><p>The manuscript was
                apparently rebound at some point when some additional leaves were added. Possibly
                the placing of the <hi rend="italic">Kyrkobalk</hi> after the <title><hi rend="italic"
                  >Landslag</hi></title> also took place during the rebinding.</p></origin>
                   <acquisition>
                     <p>By <date type="acquisition">1704</date> the manuscript was in private hands, apparently in <country>Sweden</country>. On
                       the verso side of the last leaf (unnumbered), in a hand of <date type="addition" from="1700" to="1799">saec. XVIII</date>: ‘Suen Nilson
                       årell har denne bok Completteradt och ifrån maculatur salverat die St. Pentecostis
                       1704. Af Mr. Isac Quillman utbytt.’ In <date type="acquisition">1746</date> the book was sold at an auction
                       according to the record on the front flyleaf (following a note of saec. XVIII
                       concerning the law): ‘Per auct[ione] Publ[ico] in poss[essionem] Bergmanni
                       perv[enit] 1746’.</p><p>The manuscript was acquired for the Swedish collector <persName role="owner">Nils
                         Brocman</persName> (1731–1770) and given the shelf-mark n:o 49. After his death, parts of the
                         collection were donated to <orgName>Antikvitetsarkiv</orgName>. From there, it presumably came to the <orgName>National Library
                           of Sweden</orgName> with other manuscripts in <date type="acquisition">1780</date>. The earlier shelf-mark, ‘n:o 36’, was registered on the inner front
                         cover, along with the new one, ‘B 119’.</p>
