                      <watermark>coat of arms with a crown on top</watermark> (see <bibl>Briquet,
                      Armoires - Aigle, 917-919</bibl>) appears throughout the
                    manuscript.</p><p>Several leaves have been cut; the surviving ones are in good
                    condition, apart from some dirt. The lower outer corners of fols. 89–94 have

                  LVII)</bibl>, the manuscript is written by the same hand responsible for another
                manuscript with the same main text (in 19th-century the manuscript was in the
                possession of Per Jonsson heirs; see <bibl>Schlyter 1869, no. 75</bibl>). </p>
              <p>A contemporary hand writes several additions in the margins and after the chapters
                of the laws.</p>

              <p>Simple monochromatic pen-drawn initials at the beginning of chapter and articles
                (1–2 lines high). On fol. <locus>7r</locus> a simple initial in red. In several
                places the space reserved for the initial has been left blank. First line of the
                article texts written in a larger script. Article numbers written in the outer
                margin, chapter headings added in the upper margin by the same hand that made
                numerous additions.</p>

            <bindingDesc>
              <p>Dark brown calf over wooden boards. Stamped decoration of blind-tooled frames with
                leaves to the interior (much of the type found in the bindings of <persName
                  role="binder">Hans Düsterbach</persName> (active <hi rend="italic">c.</hi>
                <date type="binding" from="1560" to="1591">1560–1591</date>). In the centre an oval
                shape decorated with geometrical patterns. Remnants of clasps are visible on the
                fore-edges of the boards. Paper pastedowns. On the spine the shelf-mark of the
                Uppsala University Library is visible. The boards overhang the text-block. Four
                sewing stations visible.</p>

          <history>
            <origin><p>The manuscript contains King <persName role="author">Kristoffer</persName>’s <title><hi rend="italic">Landslag</hi></title>
                with other regulations and royal documents, probably written during the <origDate from="1550" to="1599">second half of saec.
                  XVI</origDate>. Most of the writing was done by a single scribe writing a steady cursive
              script. The manuscript contains a few documents related to <country>Finland</country>, namely <persName role="judge">Klas
                Fleming</persName>’s and <persName role="judge">Sten Sture</persName>’s rulings in fifteenth-century <placeName>Turku</placeName>. These documents might
              suggest the manuscript is connected to <country>Finland</country>. The texts of the <title><hi rend="italic"
                  >Landslag</hi></title> and <title><hi rend="italic">Visby sjörätt</hi></title> contain affinities with
              another manuscript, <ref type="mss">Uppsala University Library, B 38</ref>, which belonged to <persName>Klas
                Karlsson Horn</persName> (1583–1632) at the <date from="1600" to="1615">beginning of saec. XVII</date>.</p></origin>
                    <acquisition>
              <p>A note found on the inner front cover (‘Johan Hinric Lidén Norrköping
                1760’) suggests that
                by <date type="acquisition">1760</date> the manuscript had come into the hands of <persName role="owner">Johan Hinric Lidén</persName> (d. 1793, who studied in
                <placeName>Turku</placeName>, although at a later date (1761–1763). Large parts of his collections came to
                the University Library in Uppsala by donation in <date type="acquisition">1779</date>.</p><p><orgName>Uppsala University Library</orgName>’s shelf-mark ‘B 1’ visible on the spine and inner front
                  cover. The stamp of the library on fol. <locus>1r</locus>.</p>
