 Paper 12 folios. 20,5 31 Text area varies. Modern foliation in the lower margin of the verso side. VI12 Catchwords appear in the lower margin of the verso side. The leaves have been heavily conserved in the gutters and edges. There is evidence of moisture- and other damage. In certain places, this damage, along with tears in the paper, has caused loss in the text. One column, varying number of lines.

Two main hands writing cursives.

Simple pen-drawn majuscules. No other decoration.

A fragment of a copybook containing letters between the king and Arwid Henriksson Tawast (c. 1540–1599), the commander of Narva castle in 1590. This copybook consists of one sole quire, of what probably was originally a larger collection.

A modern marking on the covers, ‘från Handl. rörande ryska kriget’.

Currently the fragment rests among a large number of documents, mostly letters, related to Arvid Henriksson Tawast. They all stem from his archive, which was confiscated from his estates in 1599. It was kept in the Kammararkivet and moved to the Swedish National Archives in 1913 (see Koskinen 2011, 37).
